Head Coach Sara Kubuske


Head Coach Sara KubuskeSara Kubuske will enter her sixth season as the head coach of the Green Bay Phoenix softball program in 2025, holding a fashionable record of competitive excellence in over 15 years in the coaching ranks.

In Kubuske's second season at the helm of the program, she led the team to 23 wins, the most since 2014. Green Bay won an impressive 18 contests against conference opponents. Throughout her career at Green Bay, Kubuske has consistently elevated her players, including guiding Alicia Peters and Tiffany Giese to the program's first Horizon League Player of the Year awards after the 2022 and 2023 season respectively. Players during Kubuske's tenure have also won four All-Region awards, seven HL First Team awards, six HL Second Team awards, four HL All-Freshman Team awards and a HL Freshman of the Year award won by Paige Hanson in 2023.

During her time at the University of Indianpolis, Kubuske spent 10 seasons as the top assistant for one of the winningest programs in all of NCAA Division II. She helped lead the Greyhounds to an NCAA Regional in all 10 of her seasons, while also being named the NFCA Midwest Coaching Staff of the Year in three of those seasons and the Easton NFCA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017. The Greyhounds averaged 44 wins per season, including three 50-win campaigns. The team had won two GLVC Championships and a Midwest Regional title while racking up a remarkable 440-139 (.760) record since she joined the staff. Her 2016 team set the program record for winning percentage with a .911, going 51-5 and winning the second-ever GLVC crown. This past season, UIndy finished with a 49-17 record, falling in the NCAA Super Regionals to Grand Valley State.

In 2015, Kubuske helped guide the Greyhounds to their second-ever NCAA Division II Championship, winning the Midwest Region and finishing the season 48-15. Her 2013 team set the school record for wins, going 54-8 and advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals.

Prior to her time with UIndy, Kubuske served as a compliance graduate assistant and assistant softball coach at Bemidji State University. She received her Masters of Science in Sports Studies from Bemidji State in 2009.

A four-year softball student-athlete at UW-Parkside, she holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sport and Fitness Management and a coaching certificate from Parkside. The former Sara Anderson married Jere Kubuske in June 2012. They have three children.
